Local scam alert! It has been reported that a “Private Caller” may be contacting members via telephone offering a special on our VISA or other products. Do not give any information to these callers, or anyone asking for financial or other personal information.
Fraud can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. Take precaution when giving out financial or identity information. Report any unusual phone calls. US Treasury and Social Security Benefit Payments:
The U.S. Department of Treasury and the Social Security Administration have converted electronic benefit payments to a new payment processing system. The ID code that is attached to your deposits will now change randomly. Limestone Federal Credit Union uses this ID code to transfer or re-route your deposit into your shares based on your instructions. Because the ID code is not consistent your deposits may not transfer to the share or loan as previously instructed. Our processor is working on a solution. NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY NCUA INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS
All funds in a “non-interest-bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the National Credit Union Administration through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to members under the NCUA’s general share insurance rules.
The term “non-interest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional share draft account (or demand deposit account) on which the insured credit union pays no interest or dividend. It does not include any transaction account that may earn interest or dividends, a negotiable order of withdrawal (“NOW”) account, money-market deposit account, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Account (“IOLTA”), even if share drafts may be drawn on the account.
